With the ADMS, The World is Your Server™. By tapping the ingenious engine that is WorldSearch, finding any media title is a simple, one-step task. Whether it's a song that just popped in your head or the latest viral video, WorldSearch performs lightning fast keyword searches and scans the entire multimedia universe for every occurrence of any subject, intelligently sorting the results based on your preferences.
WorldSearch is amazingly agile. Examples of video sort preferences are:

On Demand and On Hand
Tired of making trips to the video store, or waiting for your DVDs to arrive in the mail? With Video On Demand onboard, the ADMS brings the largest selection of movies for rent or purchase right to your HD display. Complete online catalogs are updated daily, providing immediate access to new releases. Since the ADMS includes a secure, custom browser, other movie portals are your Netflix subscription and Hulu.com.
In addition to online downloads, adding the optional ADC-200BR 200-disc Blu-ray Changer[1] to the ADMS seamlessly integrates your entire collection of DVDs and high-definition Blu-ray Discs into the media library. Up to five changers may be linked, providing ready access to an incredible 1,000 discs! Since they're not "ripped" to the hard drive, copyrighted content can be stored and played legally for your personal enjoyment.

Imagine having your entire music collection in one spot, and being able to find any playlist, album or track within seconds. The most popular audio formats, including iTunes Plus and MP3, are easily imported from your networked PC, Mac or laptop using the Media Transport Wizard to become part of your master library. Listeners in the home theater and two other rooms can then make their own music choices independently via a Crestron remote or touchscreen.
Multi-Purpose Blu-ray Disc™ Player / Optical Drive
No need for a separate Blu-ray or DVD player! The ADMS includes a front-loaded optical disc drive that supports Blu-ray Discs and all types of DVDs, including those you've burned yourself. Sit back and enjoy in maximum-impact HD, taking full advantage of the ADMS' embedded video enhancement technology, which automatically upscales and adjusts standard-definition content. The ADMS displays metadata such as movie synopses and cast information. HDMI and S/PDIF audio I/Os ensure that the movie will sound as great as it looks! On the music side, using the same optical drive, CDs are quickly imported with a selectable audio compression level, including Uncompressed for the highest quality. Upon access, the ADMS displays the cover art, artist, title and tracks. The ADMS' ultra-quiet design means there's no worries about having it in your listening area, even during the softest musical passages.
HDMI™ Theater AV Output
HDMI is the industry standard for high-performance digital video and audio connectivity. The ADMS features an HDMI output carrying 1080p HD video and uncompressed 7.1 surround sound, perfect for integration into a high-performance Crestron home theater. HDCP is fully implemented to ensure compliance with a complete range of digital video displays and projectors. In addition to HDMI, there are 5.1 capable S/PDIF audio and 7.1 analog audio outputs.
HDCP Ready
As the move to digital takes hold, an accelerating number of movie studios are using HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) to protect their DVDs and Blu-ray Discs against unauthorized copying. Viewing the HDCP encrypted content in its full HD format requires the source device to "authenticate" each display and signal processor in the system through an HDMI connection, before delivering an output signal. The ADMS' HDCP support ensures successful playback, regardless of HDMI content.
Customized, Secure Browsing
Browse the Web from your favorite chair, viewing everything on your high-definition display while navigating with ease using a touchpanel or keyboard. Find online episodes of your favorite TV show - or that YouTube™ video everyone is talking about - without crowding around a PC. As you peruse websites using the convenience of multiple tabs, content is easily scaled for optimal viewing at any distance. You never need to leave the ADMS environment to check email or access your favorite sites for news, scores and other information.
Crestron has developed a custom ADMS browser to provide maximum speed and a full-screen, high-resolution display in a totally secure environment. The browser is "locked down" to prevent the harmful installation of spyware or viruses so you can confidently surf the Internet without having to worry about corrupting the system. Menu options for trusted sites, security level and disabling pop-ups maximize browser safety. Windows security updates are verified and hosted by Crestron for automatic download when needed.
Internet TV Hits the Big Screen
The ADMS also provides an incomparable Internet TV experience, enabling instant access to the best online television content from popular sites such as Hulu, Joost, Vimeo, Metacafe, YouTube and others. The ADMS boosts the resolution and image quality of what it finds on the web, impressively delivering it to your HD home theater display. It employs a leading-edge graphics platform with excellent scaling and video post-processing. Streaming TV never looked so good!
Protected, Boundless Media Storage
The ADMS is designed to be more secure and reliable than any other home media server solution. As you can imagine, storing a large collection of HD video and lossless audio requires a lot of disc space. The ADMS' standard 1 terabyte (1,000 gigabytes) of storage is kept safe using RAID 1 technology, utilizing dual redundant hard drives to maintain two copies of your data for extreme reliability. Standard capacity is approximately 45,000 songs (WMA Lossless format) or over 400 standard-definition movies. So depending on your library, you may like to increase capacity.
Expanding media storage is easy with the addition of the CEN-NAS-4TB 4 terabyte Network Attached Storage appliance[1]. It comes pre-configured for the ADMS and features four hot-swappable 1TB hard drives with RAID 5 protection, all in a single rack space. It can store about 1,500 standard-definition movies or 150,000 songs! The ADMS seamlessly extends storage across any number of Network Attached Storage units that are added to your system, and also provides direct connection of external USB and 1394 drives for additional flexibility.
Multi-Format File Support
The ADMS supports a wide range of compressed, lossless, and streaming media formats, including Windows Media, Apple QuickTime, Adobe Flash® and MPEG-1, -2 and -4. Audio files imported from iTunes Plus libraries or a networked computer can be encoded in high-quality MP3, FLAC, WAV, WMA, and WMA Lossless formats. Other files can be imported via the built-in MMC card slot (SD/SDHC compatible) or USB flash drive.
Easy Setup, Interaction and Control
As a Crestron system, the ADMS provides streamlined setup from the front panel, including video resolution, audio outputs, front panel appearance and networking mode. No extra equipment is needed - just power and an Ethernet connection. The front panel's selector knob, clean buttons and adjustably-backlit LCD display even provide the means to view, select and control playback of audio files stored in the ADMS' media library.
Browsing through albums and tracks, importing CDs, and organizing a complete music and video library are fun and easy using the onscreen user menu. Displayed on your HD video display, the beautiful graphical interface affords intuitive search and playback of all your digital media content.
Every ADMS installation is driven by a Crestron control system[1]. Touchpanels, remotes, keypads, and computers can be used to control the ADMS from all over your home. From any touchpanel, you can view your entire media collection (with album cover art!) and control every function of the ADMS as it is integrated with the rest of your system. Complete programming is simplified using Crestron SystemBuilder™ software.
Home theater automation makes the experience ultra-convenient and impressively modern. The movie begins, and automatically the lights dim, the shades descend and the room temperature adjusts. Your Crestron dealer can set this up and integrate it with whole-house control and security.
Designed-in Performance, Reliability & Support
The ADMS was engineered from top to bottom for high performance, cool-running operation and the smallest possible "acoustic footprint." Extensive volumetric and heat generation testing produced an innovative enclosure design that runs cool and quiet so you can put it where it's accessible to the user.
The Microsoft Vista® Ultimate operating system was selected for its video pipeline optimizations and is partitioned to further protect your media library. Security updates for the OS will be fully tested and then hosted by Crestron.
The internal Crestron Watchdog™ constantly monitors the status of the ADMS, automatically resetting the system in the event of an error. Remote access (via VNC server) allows Crestron customer support or dealer to assess most errors and restore proper functionality without ever going onsite - and without losing any data.
